Jay Z has confirmed that he has signed Will Smith’s daughter Willow to a new deal on his label, Roc Nation. The rapper/mogul appeared on Ryan Seacrest’s show this morning and confirmed rumors that he snatched up Willow, whose song “Whip My Hair” has generated an instant buzz.

“We at Roc Nation are excited to work with Willow,” Jay-Z told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “She has an energy and enthusiasm about her music that is truly infectious. It’s rare to find an artist with such innate talent and creativity at such a young age. Willow is about to embark on an incredible journey and we look forward to joining her as she grows in all aspects of her career.”

Willow, 9, already has a career, having landed roles in I Am Legend and in Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.

“After meeting with several record companies, it was clear that Jay-Z, Ty Ty, Jay Brown and the Roc Nation staff was the unquestionable choice,” Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “Their passion for Willow combined with their boundless vision and artistic integrity made Roc Nation the perfect home for our little girl.”

According to Jay-Z, Willow’s advanced beyond her years and has a vision for her career in the music industry, despite only being nine. He noted that superstars like Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder started their careers off young.

“I heard the record first before I knew that it was recorded by a nine year old and I was like man that record’s a smash,” Jay-Z told Ryan Seacrest. “I believe in superstars. I believe on big records on superstars and I think she has both.”

After being stopped at a drunken driving checkpoint in the Los Angeles area, car impounded and the Grammy-winning singer was held for a few hours.

The LAPD confirmed the news Faith Evans was stopped at a check point when she was arrested:

Officer Cleon Joseph of the LAPD says the 37-year-old Evans was arrested Saturday night near Marina del Rey on suspicion of misdemeanor drunken driving. [sheknows]

Faith Evans’ latest album, “Something About Faith”, is set to release in October 5th. Evans is reportedly also working on a reality series, “It’s All About Faith”, which will showcase the star’s return to music and her home life.

Faith posted bail on Sunday.

Incarcerated rapper, Lil Wayne has fired off a lawsuit against his former booking agents, accusing them of holding back $375,000 in tour profits.

Reports indicate that the rapper’s lawyer asked the pair for the money before filing the suit, but they refused to hand it over. According to Starpulse,

The hitmaker and his company Young Money Touring Inc. allege the owners of Ujaama Talent Agency Inc., Erskine Isaac and David Nelson, owe him money from two of his America’s Most Wanted Music Festivals in 2009.

The complaint claims Isaac and Nelson “elected to divert to Ujaama’s own bank account an amount not less than $375,000, the sum that Isaac and Nelson maintain is owed to Ujaama for the tours in question.”

Lil Wayne has employed the firm’s services since the start of his career and participated in four different tours with Ujaama from 2008 to 2010, according to the suit filed in the Supreme Court of the State of New York on August 16.

Lil Wayne is currently serving time at New York’s Rikers Island jail on weapons possession charges and is due for release later this year.

Titled Beauty and the Beast, Saturday night (Aug. 21st) I decided to support a local Brevard County (321) Artist by the stage name of Zet. Performing live at Club Space Station in Merritt Island he showcased Honey, a female emcee.

Former Gossip Girl Taylor Momsen has slammed songstress Rihanna, calling her a ‘rock wannabe’ and ‘really annoying’.

According to source, the moody teen also hit out at the music industry:

‘People think pop is rock and the lines are getting blurred,’ she said in an interview with music magazine, Spin. ‘Now Rihanna’s wearing f***in’ leather jackets and it’s really annoying.’
